Mariakani is among Kenya’s fastest growing towns, 2021.

In the last ten years, the Largest National Government infrastructural developments in the Kenyan Coast region have been anchored in the West Coast. This includes Moi International Airport improvements, the SGR Mombasa terminus and southern bypass, the Dongo Kundu bypass expected to link Mombasa and Kwale counties by road and the ongoing expansion of the Mombasa-Nairobi highway up to Mazeras. The new 4-6 dual carriage highway begins at Mombasa ( Makupa Course Way) and snakes through Changamwe Cosmopolitan Town, The Jomvu-Miritini suburbs and terminates at Mazeras Town. It is scheduled for commissioning later this year.

Phase Two of the dualing is planned to kick start this year and will pick up from Mazeras Town all the way to past Mariakani Town, emptying its traffic past Mariakani Weigh Bridge.

This ongoing and planned developments have led to a surge in demand for land by assembling and manufacturing industries, logistics companies and a host of utility companies and general businesses. In turn, the existing and expected workforce working in this establishments is the driving force for demand of affordable and suitable rentals, making Mariakani, 45 minutes’ drive from Mombasa City, an ideal destination for investing in budget friendly rental units and family homes.

Mariakani Town itself is host to large number of businesses, banks and fueling stations.Most notable are construction and hardware shops, an indicator there is a sustained demand for construction materials.
